I am currently a high school senior at Saratoga High School in Saratoga, CA. I am taking an anatomy and physiology class taught by Mr. Kristofer Orre. In the second semester of the year, Mr. Orre presented the class with the idea of a 20 Time project where we spend about 20% of the time we have in class working on a personal project.
After having a difficult time thinking of something that would be worth trying and keep me interested, I thought of an idea to develop and produce a product that would hopefully take down some barriers between kids with special needs and other children. This was initially inspired by the children I worked with that had special needs. It isn't hard to imagine how other kids may view children with special needs differently, so I thought that making a product like this may help.
As the duration of the school project is winding down, I do have thoughts about continuing this project to possibly produce physical prototypes as opposed to just designs on a computer screen.
